Hello, everyone, and welcome to Sand Kitchen! This project has been years in the making, bubbling away in the back of my mind. Earlier this summer, I decided to finally put it together.
I’ll be sharing my food adventures here. From mostly-healthy, sometimes indulgent recipes, to food vlogs on YouTube and snippets of daily inspiration on Instagram. I want to share Middle Eastern recipes, particularly Bahraini recipes, that I pretty much never see online in English. I also want to have healthy twists to popular dishes, ideas for meal preperation and just general bits and bobs that I wish I could see more of online. You can expect everything from biryanis and curries to smoothie bowls and cookies.
I’ve got a structure in mind, and hopefully I’ll adhere to it: Every Sunday, I’ll post a “What I Eat in a Day” video, which will be on YouTube but I’ll embed it here on the site as well. Every Thursday, I’ll post a recipe here on the site. Every other day, I’ll post food photographs on Instagram.
